Adult Day Centers
Activity Leader
Assist the staff with planning and implementing specific program activities for Day Center participants. Examples of activities include arts and crafts, games, trivia, musical or other entertainment and much more.
Health Screening
Provide weekly or monthly blood pressure checks. Assist with special health screenings for participants and community members. Must be trained and have experience in taking blood pressure measurements.
Kitchen Assistant
Help prepare, serve and clean up during snack times and lunch time. For lunch, a hot meal is catered in and served (no cooking required). Assist with preparation and serving of special or restricted diets. Ensure that proper food storage/handling techniques are followed. A food handler’s certificate from the State of Arizona is required. Contact the Director of Volunteers for more information on obtaining this certification.
Nurse (licensed)
Assist the staff nurse. Provide daily nursing care/services to participants, serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team for care plans. Must be licensed a licensed RN in the state of Arizona and have/obtain current CPR and First Aid certification.
Nurse (unlicensed)
Provide support and assistance to the licensed nurse with daily nursing services provided to the individuals at the day center. Must have qualified experience as a LPN or RN.
Program Assistant
Provide general assistance and care to the participants. May have specific duties in carrying out program activities such as leading physical exercise, reading, arts and crafts and more. Assist participants with specific tasks such as feeding, personal care and toileting.
Program Buddy
Provide companionship and supervision to participants on a one to one basis. Provide encouragement to enhance their participation in program activities. Act as a friend and advocate for specific individuals.
Student Interns
Internships are available for students enrolled in an accredited college or university program. Opportunities include Activity Leader and Student Nurse Internships. Interns must meet regularly with staff regarding the status of their goals and objectives.
Receptionist
Greet visitors to the Day Center, answer telephones, take messages and provide other clerical support to the Day Center staff.
Bus Driver Assistant
Provide assistance and support to the Bus Driver (staff). Accompany the driver and provide help in the event of an emergency. Help to keep participants seated with seatbelts fastened. Assist participants off and on the bus/van. No driving required/allowed.
