Behavioral Health
Service Coordinator Provide in home assessment, prepares and carries out care plan and provides follow up care/services to enable participants to remain in their own home for as long as possible. Sensitivity, communication, interviewing and assessment skills, patience and persistence are also required. Must complete an in-depth orientation and training process prior to beginning this assignment. Must have own transportation.
Student Intern/Social Work Assist staff with direct service to participants. Develop concepts and materials to enhance direct services provided by the agency. Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the social work or counseling fields. Requires a minimum of seven hours per week under staff supervision.
Peer Counselor/Mentor Provide emotional support to individuals undergoing stress or loss. Clarify their problems and the issues involved in these problems through active empathetic listening and feedback. Must have own transportation, good communication and interpersonal skills. Must complete an in-depth orientation and training process prior to beginning this assignment. Must be able to commit four hours per week for a minimum of six months.
Business Operations
Office Assistant Willing to assist Agency staff with office tasks and projects. Computer skills preferred basic office skills, and the ability to pay attention to detail and basic knowledge of maintaining accurate files. Follow program procedures, communicate well with others. Also on an on-call basis, provide extra support for mailings labeling, stuffing and addressing envelopes).
Marketing
Special Events Provide support for community relation events. Examples of events may include health fairs, mission fairs, craft shows, other speaking engagements, as well as the Day of Prayer Luncheon, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year Meals, etc. held at Chez Nous Center and Café. Assist with planning and implementing activities prior to, and during events. Ability and willingness to understand and share the mission of Interfaith with people is required.
Junior and Family Volunteers
There are a variety of ways that Junior (ages 13-18) and Family volunteers can make a difference at Interfaith Community Care.
Families can:
- grocery shop
- friendly visit
- provide transportation
- volunteer in the Day Centers
- provide respite
- provide home repair services
- assist with special events
- write letters/cards to homebound individuals
Youth can:
- volunteer in the Day Centers
- assist with special events
- assist with the grocery program
- do some office assistant tasks
- write letters/cards to individuals
- be a phone pal
