the buildings on our campus reflect the attitude of our mindset-

Situated on the edge of “a sparse desert suburb” the asymmetrical concrete structure appears somewhat lost and out of place. Local residents and even Parkway’s staff would agree. “Most people who see our building sitting out near the border of our 43-acre dirt site look at us, tilt their heads, and ask what we are doing. Six months after the church opened its doors, church neighbors (literally across the street from Parkway) attended a service and joked that they had thought the yellow paint was primer." - Trent Renner

The process began when the staff invited Visioneering’s two architects (formerly employed with Disney) to meet with Parkway’s staff for a brief consultation. “We flew them in for one day and basically asked them with crayons and colored pencils to throw out a sketch based on a refuge mindset I had in my head. They sat down with us and we came up with three themes — fire, water, and rock — that will flow through the entire property.”

A series of discussions helped determine the vibrant exterior color choices in response to matching and contrasting with surrounding color context. The earth green tone was chosen because of its appearance to rich farmland or soil. Other colors, such as yellow, were chosen to accent the native desert landscaping that is found abundantly in the surrounding developments.  :: read the full article ::
